NFC does not work when scanning my passport or ID card

If you find any issues while trying to scan the NFC of your ID document, please follow these recommendations:

1. Check NFC Settings. Make sure that NFC is enabled on your mobile phone. You can usually find this option in the settings menu of your device:

  • For Android devices: Go to your phone's Settings > look for Connections or Network & Internet > NFC option. Make sure it's turned on.
  • For Apple devices: For the latest Apple mobile phones the NFC is automatically enabled.

2. Position the ID Document correctly. Make sure you are placing the ID document in the correct position for NFC scanning and that it isn't misaligned. The NFC antenna on your phone is typically located in a specific area, and you may need to align the document with it for a successful scan.

3. Remove any covers or cases on your phone that may be interfering with the NFC signal.

4. Wait until the scan is completed. The scanning process may take some time therefore please be patient and wait until you see a message on the screen that says the scan has been successfully completed.
